Fuchsia ( ) is a genus of flowering plants that consists mostly of shrubs or small trees. The first, Fuchsia triphylla, was discovered on the Caribbean island of Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic) about 1696–1697 by the French Minim monk and botanist, Charles Plumier, during his third expedition to the Greater Antilles.
Fuchū (府中市, Fuchū-shi) is a city located in Tokyo Metropolis, in the central Kantō region of Japan. As of 1 February 2016, the city had an estimated population of 260,895 and a population density of 8860 persons per km².
Fuchsia (, FEW-shə) is a vivid purplish red color, named after the color of the flower of the fuchsia plant, which took its name from the 16th century German botanist Leonhart Fuchs.
