The meaning of «puq»

The puquios are an old system of subterranean aqueducts near the city of Nazca, Peru. Out of 36 puquios, most are still functioning and even relied upon to bring fresh water into the arid desert.
Puqueldón is Chilean commune in Chiloé Archipelago which is part of Chiloé Province and Los Lagos Region.
Puquio District is one of twenty-one districts of the Lucanas Province in Peru.
Puquina District is one of eleven districts of the General Sánchez Cerro Province in Peru.
